Book-It Forum
is a simple message board system designed to encourage both discussion
and feedback within your organisation. Administrators can create an
unlimited number of discussion areas or forums and within each area,
registered members and contacts can start new topics of discussion,
respond to items already posted and search for items that may previously
have been posted that may answer questions for them. Users can set
preferences to be alerted by email each time a new message is posted in
specific forums or when specific topics they have contributed to receive
further contributions. A message board is an ideal tool to interact with
your members and contact, to answer questions, invoke discussion, share
experiences and much much more.

Message Board Features
Obviously there are many message board
systems out there and many of them have much more functionality than Book-It
Forum, however, it is our goal to create a system that is simple and easy to use
yet effective at the task for which it has been designed - a key design goal in
development of all our Book-It products. As a member of the Book-It family it
will also be closely integrated with
Book-It Office and
Book-It On-Line to, for
example, validate member / contact details before they use the system, configure
restricted access, use the same logon ID and password system etc. The list below
highlights most of the main features within the Book-It Forum message board
system.
- Add an unlimited number of forums to group topics and
messages into manageable units
- Nominate a moderator for each forum who can have ultimate
responsibility for that forum with the power to edit and delete all
postings made in that forum
- Allow general access to view all topics and messages left in all
forums
- Live members and contacts can opt to receive email notification of all
postings on all forums of interest to them
- Allow live Book-It members or contacts only to post new topics and
reply to existing messages within forums
- Users posting messages can elect to receive email notification of
all further contribution to a topic that they have contributed to or
just notification of replies specifically to their own posting
- Users can edit and delete all messages that they personally leave
on the message boards
- Users can search busy message boards quickly and easily for
previous messages for information in case similar posting have
appeared previously
- System integrates tightly with Book-It Office and Book-It
On-Line using a common login ID and password
- Efficient text only operation ensures minimum demand on website
bandwidth
- Simple feature list ensures that it is simple to use and
administer
